The Poison Diaries by Maryrose Wood. I liked this book! Even though there’s a few animal deaths in it, I’ve read much more graphic animal killings, so this didn’t bother me too much. Jessamine, the main character, wasn’t quite as interesting as I had hoped, but Weed, the boy who comes into the story and becomes Jessamine’s love interest, makes up for her lack. At first, I kinda just wanted to give Weed a little slap to sort-of wake him up, but eventually he did it on his own, and by the end of the book, he was my absolute favorite character. I really like that kid. And I can’t wait until the next book comes out, I WANT TO READ IT NOW! Oh, and Jessamine’s father reminds me a bit of Dr. Warthrop from Monstrumologist. Just saying.
My rating: 4/5
